The Brazilian Society of Eye Plastic Surgery has as its main premise“Improve and disseminate the study of eye plastic through meetings, congresses, research, and publications relating to the specialty. ”(Art. 6, Chapter III,SBCPO).As president and aware of the duty to enforce the companys bylaws, beforeeven taking office, I looked for colleagues Patricia Akaishi, Suzana Matayoshi and AnaRosa Pimentel to compose an unpublished book: Periocular Aesthetics, a watershed in theaesthetic approach to the periocular region, in which for the first time SBCPO gathers itsbest experts on the subject in one piece that encompassed knowledge of anatomy, surgical techniques and procedures in the important region around the eyes.Moved by the excellent repercussion of the book, I idealized the elaboration of a series ofconduct manuals that could have the opinion of experienced members on topicsthat could assist the surgical conduct of the practitioners of this subspecialspecialty. To coordinate the SBCPO First Conduct Manual on the topic ofBlepharoplasty, I chose Dr. Patrícia Akaishi, vice president of SBCPO, who acceptedpromptly my invitation. During the 62nd Brazilian Congress of Ophthalmology, inSeptember 2018, we met in Maceió, the leading experts in blepharoplasty, amongformer presidents and active members of SBCPO to vote on the various topicscovered in this book.I congratulate Dr. Patricia Akaishi and all participants of the 1st Conduct ManualSBCPO for the beautiful work and commitment to disseminate knowledgeand improve scientific teaching and research.I thank Genom Lab for their full support in the construction of this important work.Roberto Murillo LimongiPresident SBCPO 2018-2020
